At Star
I came to star in the Fall of 2014. I was assigned the 10th grade social studies position teaching economics and civics. I soon added one section of 9th grade U.S. History. Over my two years at Star I've worked very hard to develop our newest AP course, AP World History. I will be teaching that beginning in the fall of 2016. I've also recently become a co-coordinator for the National Honor Society at the school as well as an unofficial mentor for many of the students who have had me.
Goals as a Teacher
As I enter my third year at Star I've come with the same goals as I have every year. Every student can learn something, and its my job to find out how best they do this.
Specific goals for this year include:
A 50% passing rate for all students who take the AP exam.
All students in Economics/Civics and AP World can point to measurable growth.
All students will find real-life applicable skills within my classroom.
All students will grow as students and citizens within the classroom and community because of my class.

As a Coach
In my first fall at Star I volunteered to help the program. In my second year I was named head coach just prior to the first game and haven't looked back since. Our goal is to develop hard-work and dedication in athletics that will spill over into the classrooms. Our football team will be growing in size and turn into a winning program very soon.
